FMP -ARTIST SHEETS

This was the artist research sheet I created, based around an artist called Emily Louise Heard. She is a UK based artist who creates colourful and emotive works of art. Her work has been influenced by different artists such as Claude Monet, Vincent Van Goph and Leonid Afremov. I absoloutely love the vivid and and radiant colours that she uses in her work to make it look/ feel so alive. This piece of work was originally created using oil paints and is known as ' Tropical Balloon'. I wanted to try and create the same effect as the original piece of work, therefore I also used oil paints, but on paper; not on canvas. I am so happy with this piece of work and how well the media worked. I wouldn't change anything about this.

My next artist research sheet that I created was by an artist known as Patrice Murciano. He grew up in the south of France who was first inspired by comics and began to reproduce their characters. He then went onto using his mothers makeup to create portraits and female nudes. He said in an interview - "I am entirely self-taught in art (painting, sculpture, photography, film). I learned all this through passion over time. I continue to learn every day; I try new techniques, new portraits or nudes. I have long list of painted celebrities. Today I would rather paint portraits: faces that inspire me, children, adults, the elderly; I am first and foremost portraitist."  Murciano uses inks, watercolor and acrylic paint. He begins by projecting an image onto a canvas with a projector, then draws with a pencil. These pieces were originally created using coloured inks, which I have also used to recreate them so that it creates the same effect. I absoloutely love this sheet as it is so colourful and eyecatching.
