For my specialist subject fine art, I had to create an oil painting. This was my first time using oil paints so I wasn't very certain on how it would turn out, however I was determined to try and create something really detailed. I was so pleased with the out come! I used a secondary image to copy from, which I found whilst looking for my secondary research on Pinterest. The image was by a Spanish artist known as Cayetano de Arquer Buigas who was born
(January 11th, 1932- September 13th, 2012) This is an image of what my outcome was like half way through.
When creating this, I rubbed most of the oil paint off of the brush so that I could control the paint more. This helped me blend in all of the different tones, which worked really well. However, the artist did apply his paint a lot thicker than what I have done here. I am thinking of creating something similar to this for my final piece, but in my own way.
Unfortunately I was unable to complete this as I couldn't find to time to complete it.
